Description: A Nation's culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people. -Mahatma Gandhi India’s 74th Republic Day programme began with a solemn prayer service conducted by the LTS students and Animators on 25th January 2023, in Mary Ward Auditorium. The area around the auditorium and staircase was well decorated with colourful tricolour rangolis made by students of class VIII on the theme “INDIA@ 75”. The event started with powerful video presentation on the National Song “Vande Mataram”. The assembly began with lighting of the lamp, accompanied by singing of the shloka, ‘Astoma Sadgamya’. Students presented the assembly on the following theme: INDIA@75, INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF MILLETS and NARI SHAKTI. Class IX students presented a Hindi patriotic song whose lyrics paid homage to our motherland and ignited the feeling of patriotism amongst all present. A harmonious yet soulful and patriotic Qawalli at the end of Assembly was presented by the students of classes VI to IX and XI, showing the love and appreciation we have for our country. The audience then took the National Pledge, read by Vice-Head Girl, Angela Elizabeth Domingo. Sr. Monica Rozario gave her vote of thanks and appreciated the efforts of all those who had worked to put up such a splendid and awe-inspiring programme. The program ended with the singing of the National Anthem.
