Description: On Saturday,27 August a Retreat was organized in the Hart Hall for the Christian staff and it was open to all staff members. The retreat began at 8:15 am with Sister Monica welcoming and presenting the Resource person, Sr. Inigo SSA with a bouquet of flowers. Mrs. Deanne Middleton who was the compere for the event introduced Sr. Inigo to the staff members. 27 August also happened to be the feast of St.Monica, Mrs. Deanne invited Mrs. Kadam and Mrs. Marina to felicitate our Principal, Sr. Monica with a card and a bouquet on behalf of all the staff members. There were two sessions conducted by Sr Inigo which were very enriching and packed with lots of practical examples. Some of the topics of the sessions included who is a teacher,the role of a Teacher, the challenges of a teacher, the 90/10 Principle, and inspiring messages about teachers from great personalities like Dr. Radhakrishna, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, Pope Francis and APJ Abdul Kalam. Sister Inigo also provided time for the staff to reflect and share during her session. The sessions were appreciated by the staff and proved very beneficial. During the break, Sr. Monica treated the staff to coffee and delicious refreshments. The staff were also pleased to have Sr Shalini IBVM in their midst and got the opportunity to interact with her. The Eucharistic celebration began by 11.30 am and the Parish Priest of St.Pauls Church, Fr. Vincent Salvatore and the Assistant Parish priest, Fr. Roger celebrated the mass. The homily was based on the role of teachers and the life of St. Monica. The melodious choir led by Mr. Ashish enhanced the congregation to join in with spiritual enthusiasm. Teachers participated in the offertory procession and the faithful prayed for the clergy, the religious, each and every member of the Loreto Family which included every staff member, students, parents, IBVM Sisters and also for those who are sick and suffering and those bereaved members who lost their near and dear ones including the deceased Staff and Loreto Sisters.A special prayer was made for God’s blessings on Sr Monica as it was the feast day of St.Monica too. After the Eucharistic Celebration, the Sisters and the staff members sang a Happy feast day song for Sr. Monica. Thereafter Sr.Monica felicitated Fr. Vincent, Fr. Roger, and Sr. Inigo with a card and a small token of appreciation and gratitude. Sr. Monica thanked the parish father, Sr. Inigo, Sr.Baishakhi, Sr Marianna, and the Staff for all their help in organizing the event and expressed their words of appreciation. The day’s program ended by 12.45 pm with a group photograph in the quadrangle and the guests joined Sisters for lunch at Sister’s residence.
