Description: The students of Junior School displayed their love and spirit for their country with a special assembly held in the Open Hall on 13th August, 2018 commemorating the 72nd Independence day of India. The place was beautifully decorated with the art and craft items made by the Junior School students on the Independence Day theme.
The special assembly began with a solemn prayer service in which the students of classes 4 and 5 prayed for our country and its leaders and also recited with great pride in their voice, the famous poem "Into That Heaven Of Freedom" written by the great Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore. There was hope and promise in the air. They also shared information about the rule of Britishers over our country and the Independence struggle led by great leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi. Dressed in tri-colour attires, the tiny tots show cased their patriotism as they danced beautifully to the tune of "Bharat Humko Jaan Se Pyara Hai" and showed that we are one, though we belong to different cultures, states and traditions. A few students came dressed as freedom fighters such as Rani Laxmi Bai, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Subhash Chandra Bose etc and spoke the famous and powerful dialogues for which these brave martyrs are remembered. In their own small way they tried to offer their gratefulness and respect to the heroes who gave their lives for the freedom, of our country. The awareness about the country India was tested through a mini quiz in which students of classes Prep to class Five participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. Our Principal Sister Archana addressed the students towards the end and asked them to become responsible citizens when they grow up. The students then went back to their classes with Patriotic spirit in their hearts after singing the National Anthem with good fervor.
