Description: The students of Class 8 of Loreto Convent School, Delhi Cantt hosted Christmas Celebrations for the Jeevan Rekha students in the evening classes conducted for the underprivileged children of the nearby Jharera village. The event headed by the esteemed principal, Sr. Archana and the coordinators Mrs. Priya Nasir and Mrs. Suman Chopra commenced at 2: 30 pm when the children were welcomed and each was presented with a Santa Claus cap. The children were given refreshments of cake and juice. The programme began with a short and meaningful prayer service. This was followed by an enthralling entertainment programme presented by the students of Class 8. The students presented hymns and songs, performed a dance to a medley of Hindi film songs and topped it with a short skit. The students of Jeevan Rekha too presented a prayer dance, a skit on the wishes of three trees, and sang carols – Joy to the World and Drummer Boy. Mrs. S. Aggarwal conducted sports competitions for the children and prizes were given to the winners by the Principal, Sr. Archana. Refreshments of a scrumptious plate of Puri - Chana and Jalebi were provided. Each child of the Jeevan Rekha Programme was gifted with a hamper of stationery and blankets. Sr. Archana addressed the children with greetings and good wishes for the season. She encouraged the children to study well and emphasized on the need to grow into good human beings. The programme ended at 4: 45pm.
