Description: Loreto Convent School, Delhi conducted a special prayer service on 24 Jan 2020 with great fervour and splendour. This prayer was held on the occasion of Republic Day -26 Jan 2020. The event started with the national song Vande Mataram. This was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the principal Sr. Monica Rosario and the school coordinators with patriotic fervor heightened by the singing of the Sanskrit – Bengali medley Sangacchadwam- Anandaloke and the prayer service. The prayer service also included the recitation of the Telugu composition Jaya Jaya Jaya Priya Bharatha by Devulapalli Krishna Shastri.
The prayer service was followed by a rendition of a patriotic song by the students of Junior school, a medley of inspiring patriotic songs by the choir, and Ward House Activities of March-past competition and athletics. The winners of the competitions were awarded certificates by the principal.
The principal, Sr. Monica addressed the school and implored the students to appreciate the treasure that is the motherland. This programme ended with the National Anthem. The programme was much appreciated by the staff and students.
